2019 Jeep Cherokee
Although the Cherokee is still a few years away from a total redesign, the 2019 edition features enough upgrades to make it the most anticipated crossover of the year. More aggressive and eye-catching aesthetics, updated interior features, a new engine, and upgraded infotainment amenities make the Cherokee stand out from the crowd. Still, it retains its legendary off-road prowess, which may be the defining factor in the segment. Here's a look at all the Cherokee has to offer in 2019.

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes in six trims: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, Trailhawk, Limited, Trailhawk Elite, and Overland. Jeep starts the Cherokee lineup off with the entry-level Latitude that boasts 17-inch steel wheels, all-season tires, LED fog lamps, automatic headlamps, roof rails, and power heated exterior mirrors. The Limited offers 18-inch polished aluminum wheels and chrome accents, while the Trailhawk Elite tacks on a foot-activated power liftgate and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Overland rounds out the lineup with 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, acoustic glass, and body-colored accents. Make the Cherokee pop with one of 10 exterior colors including Diamond Black, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Hydro Blue, Velvet Red, Firecracker Red, Olive Green, Light Brownstone, Bright White, or Pearl White.
Engine (Power)
The lower three trims all come with a 2.4-liter MultiAir inline four-cylinder engine that pumps out 180 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. On the upper four trims, the Cherokee bumps up to a 3.2-liter V-6 that's good for 271 horsepower, 239 pound-feet of torque, and an overall more exciting driving experience. All trims except for the Latitude also have an available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that churns out an impressive 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is arguably the most capable off-road crossover in its segment, thanks to Jeep's unbelievable traction, torque, power, and handling. Both the Trailhawk and Trailhawk Elite earn Jeep's coveted Trail Rated badge, allowing them to go just about anywhere. Other models go with the Jeep Selec-Terrain Traction Management System that provides five drive modes: sport, snow, rock, sand/mud, and automatic.
Interior
With room for up to five passengers and a total cargo capacity of 54.7 cubic feet, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee offers plenty of space for errands or adventures. This year, the crossover also gets a redesigned cabin that increases convenience and functionality. At the center of this layout is the Uconnect infotainment system, which allows you to control Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and navigation. Other standout features include heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, an Alpine premium sound system, and more.
Safety Features
Thanks to all-new accident avoidance features, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee is the safest it's ever been. Blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, full-speed forward collision warning, and rear cross-path detection help prevent accidents before they happen. Throw in a backup camera, parking sensors, and automated parking, and you won't have to worry about maneuvering into those tight spaces either.
